It is a question that needs to be answered!


We were curious to know which country consumes the most alcohol per capita and thought you might be too!


Here is a list of 5 countries where you shouldn’t do a pub crawl if you’re a lightweight drinker!


  1. Czech Republic – 12.47 litres pure alcohol per capita


At number 5 is the Czech Republic. Anyone who has walked down the streets of Prague knows that every second building is a bar!


  1. Andorra – 13.31 litres pure alcohol per capita


For those of you who don’t know, Adorra is a small, landlocked country in south west Europe. What it lacks in size it makes up for in drinking capacity! And here’s the kicker! – Andorra has the highest life expectancy in the world at 81 years!


  1. Lithuania – 14.30 litres pure alcohol per capita


Lithuania is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and is the third highest consumer of pure alcohol per capita! Talk about all-round consistency!


  1. Belarus – 14.69 litres pure alcohol per capita


Once occupied by Russia, Belarus may have played second fiddle to its larger neighbour for a long time. But when it comes to drinking, Belarus is a world power indeed!


  1. Estonia – 14.97 litres pure alcohol per capita


When was the last time you heard of Estonia?! (Probably just now!)


This country ranks the highest in press freedom, education, civil liberties and…. the highest consumption of alcohol per capita! At a whopping 14.97 litres of pure alcohol, Estonia holds the world record for the most alcohol consumed per capita!


Like we always say, drinking isn’t a competition! This is just fun-to-know information!


Alcohol consumption is heavily dependent on regional culture, climatic conditions and many other factors. Also, remember that this information pertains to alcohol consumption… Not alcoholism! Many of these 5 countries, have high life expectancy rates and have prospering economies!
